At DownSizing Estates, we strive to lessen your emotional burden when liquidating a loved ones estate. Estate probate can be difficult. Selling residential assets can be an overwhelming task for the executor of the estate and family heirs. We conduct a professional estate sale at your residence, selling the entire contents, including vehicles. Our services include sorting, organizing, staging, pricing, promoting/advertising and staffing the sale, all leading to a total estate liquidation. For our services, we bid each estate sale individually, charging a percentage of the total sales. For smaller and partial estates, we may charge more. Out-of-town estates may also require a higher fee to cover additional travel expenses.
At DownSizing Estates, we primarily service the Austin, Texas (Central Texas) market, but we will consider estate sales in other Texas cities and other states.

Q Will you conduct an estate sale with someone living in the home?
A ABSOLUTELY NOT. The process is too invasive. We transform the home into a sales venue with extra display equipment and lighting. The home must be VACANT before we accept an estate sale project
Q: How much preparation work must I do before an estate sale is underway?
A: We ask that you remove all items that family members wish to keep. The estate administrator should make sure this is a fair and orderly process. Remove all personal documents and papers.
Q: Do you handle out of town Estate Sales?
A: While we specialize in local estate sales, DownSizing Estates is one of the few estate sale companies that handles estate sales outside of the Austin metropolitan area. We also accept estates sales projects in other states.
Q: Do I work before and during the Estate Sale?
A: No. DownSizing Estates will sort, organize, stage, price, research, advertise/promote and staff the sale. For emotional and professional reasons, we prefer that you not attend the sale or offer to help. We vacuum and broom sweep the house at the end of the sale.
Q: When do I need to DownSize?
A: If a loved one has passed away or moved to an assisted living facility, or simply downsizing your personal possessions, an Estate Sale, also known as an Estate Liquidation, is beneficial. With efficient estate asset management, you can quickly receive compensation in order to sell the real estate property. We work closely with your realtor, passing out realtor cards and property fact sheets. By contacting us early in the planning stages, we can schedule your sale to keep your timeline moving forward.
